All students at the Lithuanian higher education institutions from non-EU countries are required to obtain the Lithuanian Student Identity Card (LSIC or LSP as in the Lithuanian language) although the students from EU member states are highly encouraged to do this as well. This is a list of important things to know why an LSIC/LSP card can be useful for you:
– it is necessary for getting access to the University library services;
– it is the best proof of your identity as a student at the University itself (especially while taking exams);
– it gives you various discounts at theatres, cinemas, and many other services and purchases;
– it gives you discounts for public transport in the biggest cities of Lithuania and travels between the cities and towns by buses or trains.
Cost of your LSIC/LSP:
EUR 12 for Bachelor degree students;
EUR 6 for Master degree students;
EUR 16 for Medicine and Odontology students.
Getting your LSIC/LSP:
You can register on the online LSIC/LSP system at lsp.lt/en as soon as you get your acceptance letter from Vilnius University although you will only be able to order your LSIC after the University registers your data in the system. This is usually done on the second part of August so do not worry about this beforehand.
The whole procedure of obtaining your LSIC is listed on the Vilnius University Students' Representation website.
All international and local students must register at the Identity Management System at id.vu.lt to be able to access all of the IT services provided at Vilnius University. This must be done during the first month of studies although we highly encourage you to do this as soon as possible.
Students services like personal email, eStudent Information system, Virtual Learning Environment, Virtual Library and Internet access can only be accessed after registering at the Identity Management System.
If you have failed to pay the application fee before the deadline stated on your invoice, and have not submitted the application yet, you may do this anytime before the deadline for application - the 1st of May or July. Although please note that the deadline for your application fee payment is set because only fully submitted applications (with paid application fees and completely submitted documents) are processed for admission.
Unfortunately, the application fee of 100 EUR must be paid by all applicants. There is no financial support for this payment. An online application will be processed only after the application fee is collected and the payment receipt is submitted.
The tuition fee payment for the first year of studies has to be made during the admission procedure - within 15 calendar days after receiving the pre-acceptance letter. The payments from the second year are divided for each semester and can be paid by instalments. Click here for more information.
The statement means that the quality of a particular study programme is being evaluated by an external body. This is a standard procedure for all study programmes in order to make sure they meet the quality standards of higher education in Lithuania.
Yes, you can apply to this programme, but please note that there is no definitive answer if the programme will be carried out this study year. This is why it would be for the best if you had another study programme on your mind or even marked it as your second priority on the admission system at apply.vu.lt.
You may submit the application with a list of three study programmes to apply for the admission procedure for the second study programme would be considered only in the case you would not get an offer to the first one or would reject it. The application fee of 100 EUR covers the whole application, including admission procedures for the three study programmes.
It is important that you meet the country-specific requirements set for applicants from the country where you have obtained your undergraduate education. The full list of country-specific requirements could found here.
