Changing the Form and Timetable of Study Programme
Changing the form and timetable of your studies
Bachelor's, master's and integrated students may change the form of study (e. g. full-time to part-time) and the timetable of their study programme, if the study programmes of such forms and such timetables are carried out at Vilnius University.
Students wishing to change their study form or timetable must apply to their core academic unit (faculty).
Changing the Study Programme
Undergraduate (bachelor's degree), postgraduate (master's degree) and integrated studies students have the opportunity to change their study programme to another if they meet these requirements:
- The study programme can be changed no earlier than after the first semester;
- The student must not have any academic debts;
- The programme being studied and the programme the student wants to transfer must be in the same group of study fields.
In the case of residency, students have the opportunity to change the study programme only without changing the acquired qualification and not earlier than after the completion of the first year of studies.
Students wishing to change their study programme must apply to the core academic unit (faculty) or other higher education institution running the new study programme at least 10 calendar days before the start of the new semester. The core academic unit (faculty) or higher education institution which runs the new study programme shall consider the request of the student wishing to change his/her study programme, make a decision and inform him/her accordingly. Core academic units (faculties) may also lay down additional conditions for changing the study programme.
Changing the study programme without losing state funding in the same group of study fields is possible. When the state-funded tuition fee of a new study programme is higher than the price of the existing study programme, the difference in prices must be covered by the student who wants to change the programme.
When changing the study programme, the existing study contract is terminated, and a new one is concluded.
Listening to Subjects of the Study Programme at Other Higher Education Institutions
Students may take individual subjects (modules) of the study programme in accordance with the procedure established by Vilnius University at other state-recognised universities, while students of other state-recognised universities may take individual subjects (modules) of the study programme at Vilnius University.
The tuition fee for the course shall be paid in accordance with the University regulations.
Anyone wishing to take a particular subject of the study programme must apply to the core academic unit (faculty) or other higher education institution that offers the subject.
