Staff Training Week 2024

Noemi Gonzalez Erasmus + Staff Training Week took place at Vilnius University from May 13th to 17th, 2024.

The five-day event was designed for academic/administrative staff of partner universities from EU and non-EU countries to get to know more about Vilnius University, to enhance the intercultural competence and communication skills through the workshop ”Diversity & Inclusion", experience VU campuses and the local culture.

Workshop “Diversity & Inclusion”
Lecturer: Kwanza Musi Dos Santos, Italian and afro-Brazilian, is an Expert DEI Trainer & Consultant, specialized on antiracism, gender equality, environmental justice and intersectionality, and currently works with profit and non-profit organizations all over Europe.

During this workshop participants had chance to discover how systems of oppression such as racism, patriarchy and sexism manifest and influence our behaviour, from daily life simple tasks to procedures in the workplace. Through exercises on unconscious bias and active listening, they tried to deconstruct this behaviour and avoid microaggressions.
