Diploma Supplement
A Diploma Supplement (DS) is a document produced through a joint the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES initiative. The Diploma Supplement is an annex to the original qualification. It provides essential information on the nature, level, context, content and status of any higher education qualification and was created in order to ease the problems of recognition and promote transparency. It is a document that facilitates international recognition of qualifications for academic and/or professional purposes.
Being an effective tool for transparency and promoting informed judgments about qualifications, Diploma Supplement does not replace or substitute the original qualification documents as well as does not guarantee automatic recognition of the qualification for either academic or professional purposes.
Diploma Supplement is being issued to all Vilnius University graduates automatically, free of charge and in two languages: Lithuanian and English since 2006.
