Population: according to the preliminary data of the Department of Statistics of Lithuania, in the beginning of 2019, the population of Šiauliai Municipality was 100,693. The registered number of unemployed in July of 2019 was 3508 residents. The percentage of unemployed in the working age population (DAG) was 5.6%.

• Vilnius International Airport – the distance from Šiauliai to Vilnius (the capital of Lithuania) is 214 km. The most convenient way to get from Vilnius Airport to Vilnius Railway Station is by train. The price for a ticket is € 0.75. Tickets can be purchased on the train. Vilnius Railway Station and Vilnius Bus Station are directly in front of each other. The bus station is on the opposite side of street. The price of a bus or train ticket to Šiauliai is up to € 15.
