Chlaunė Meištovskis (1919–1941) graduated from the Jewish gymnasium in Vilkaviškis. From 1937 he studied at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas. During the seventh and eight semesters this capable student continued his studies at Vilnius University (1940/1941 academic year). During the Nazi regime, he was deprived of the scholarship for the reason of Jewish nationality by the order of the rector of Vilnius University of 1 July 1941. Later, on 17 September 1941, he was expelled from the university following the order of the Higher Education Department of the Education Board. His killing place is unknown; his father Abraomas Meištovski was killed in Vilkaviškis.
