Sara Pitumaitė (1922–?) was born in Kaunas. In 1933-1940, she studied at Kaunas Jewish II Gymnasium. After graduating, she applied to Vytautas Magnus University in the autumn of the same year and was rejected. Then, she applied to the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Nature of Vilnius University and was accepted. She studied there for a year. On 19 July 1941, her personal file of kept in the archives of Vilnius University noted in German that she went to Kaunas to visit her parents for the summer vacation. On 19 September 1941, she was expelled from the university on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, under the authority of the National Socialists The further fate of Sara Pitumaitė is unknown.
