Mira Brudno (Brudnaitė) Gitelzonienė (1912–?) was born in Smurgainys, Vilnius voivodeship, in the family of Hirszberas and Rachelė Brudno. The father was a worker in a fur factory. In 1919, Mira began attending an elementary school, and graduated from a gymnasium in Vilnius in 1931. In the same year, she entered the History Department of the Faculty of Humanities at Vilnius University (then – Stephen Báthory University), but due to her difficult financial situation, she had to postpone her studies and work in order to support herself. In 1940, she married Simonas Gitelzonas. In 1941 she submitted a request to resume her studies starting from the fourth semester in January, but on 19 September 1941 she was expelled from the university on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education of the Board of Education, under the National Socialists. The further fate of Mira Gitelzonienė is unknown. The personal file contains a copy of her passport made in 1945.
