Margaretė Benjaminovičiūtė (1922–?) was born in Karaliaučius. She started studying at Kaunas Jewish II Private Gymnasium. In 1940, after passing the final exams, she graduated from it. In the autumn of 1940, she applied to Vilnius University. Firstly, she submitted documents to the Faculty of Technology but was not admitted. In October of the same year, she was admitted to the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. She studied there for only a year because on 19 September 1941 she was expelled from the university on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, which was under the authority of the National Socialists.
