Jeronima Keblytė (father – Antanas) was born in Petrikaičiai village, Kretinga county, in 1924. In 1937, she graduated from Jokūbavas Primary School and continued to study at Jokūbavas Secondary School for another two years. In 1939, she entered Kretinga Gymnasium, graduating in 1945. In the same year, she enrolled in the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University. She completed six semesters there and was exiled in the spring of 1948. The fact that her studies were terminated is also evidenced by the following entry on the admissions application: “to remove from the list as of 6 November 1948”. In 1950, she requested to receive her academic transcript certifying the part of studies she had completed, as she wished to continue her studies at the Irkutsk Medical Institute. Such a certificate was issued by Vilnius University. In 1962, Jeronima Keblytė lodged a request to return to studies but was not accepted “because the break in her studies was too long”.
