Julija Verbiūtė (1928–?) was born in Barteliai village, Veisiejai parish (father – Antanas). In 1940 she entered Leipalingis Gymnasium and in 1946 completed her studies there. In August of the same year, she applied to the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University. On 22 June 1948, she was removed from the student list because she was “not attending the university” (she, allegedly, knew about young persons’ affiliation with an anti-Soviet organisation but did not report it and tried to obtain forged documents with their help). Based on the information in the database Deportations and Imprisonment of the Lithuanian Population in the Soviet Union, it can be assumed that in 1948 she was arrested and sent to Komi. In 1954, she requested the university to issue a certificate on the courses attended. She indicated Druskininkai as her place of residence. The certificate was issued.
