Vytautas Antanas Jurčiukonis (1928–1948?) was born in Paliūnai village, Alytus county (father – Julius Jurčiukonis). In 1935-1938, he studied at Buteliūnai Primary School. He completed the final elementary school forms at a school in Seirijai. In 1939, he started studying in Alytus Secondary School No. 1. In 1945, he graduated and applied to the Department of Philology of the Faculty of History and Philology of Vilnius University, majoring in pedagogy and Russian-German languages. He was accepted and submitted a second request to transfer him to the Faculty of Law the same autumn. There is no more information regarding his studies or expulsion. Based on the information in the database Deportations and Imprisonment of the Lithuanian Population in the Soviet Union, it can be assumed that in 1948 he was arrested and deported to Mordovia. He died in a labour camp.
