Eleonora Vincentina Rudolevičiūtė Žemaitaitienė (father – Petras) was born in Pamūšis manor, Taujėnai parish, Ukmergė county, in 1928. Her parents worked in the manor. In 1931, they managed to acquire a small plot of land in the town of Kavarskas (Anykščiai district). In this town, Eleonora attended a primary school in 1935-1941. In 1941, she started studying at Ukmergė Gymnasium. In 1946, her sister Vanda Rudolevičiūtė was exiled. The curriculum vitae in the personal file kept in the archives of Vilnius University notes that Eleonora went to Kaunas to study for one year but later returned and graduated from Ukmergė Gymnasium in 1948. In the same year, she submitted an application to study geography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Vilnius University. The application was filed on 29 July, and “Accepted” was written on the application on 24 August. On 6 September, a second note saying “Not Accepted” was added. According to Eleonora herself, she was hit by a carriage when she was going to the polyclinic to get her health checked: her leg was gravely injured. On 7 September, she submitted a request noting she would not be able to attend lectures for some time due to the disaster and asked not to remove her from the student list. However, after returning to studies a few weeks later, she no longer found herself on the lists. The reason for not accepting Eleonora was that she hid the fact her sister had been exiled. In 1951, Eleonora Vincentina Rudolevičiūtė (Žemaitaitienė) entered the then Pedagogical Institute but did not graduate due to health problems. She worked in the field of education for 36 years.
