Vanagaitė Laimutė (Antanina), Sister Lina-Marija CSC was born in 1928 in Panevėžys (father – Vladas Vanagas). In 1941, she completed the sixth form at Panevėžys Primary School No 4. In 1947, she finished the eight form at Panevėžys II Girls’ Gymnasium. In July of the same year, she applied and was accepted to Vilnius University Faculty of History and Philosophy, majoring in Lithuanian language and literature. In 1947, she joined the Sisters of St. Casimir. She withdrew from the university in 1948 because of the new monastic vows; however, following a change in the monastic order, she applied for a return to studies in February of that year. She was not allowed to return to studies “due to a change in the programme”. Vanagaitė enrolled in Vilnius Pedagogical Institute and graduated in 1952. After completing studies, she engaged in pedagogical work and currently is one of the Sisters of St. Catherine.
