Dvoirė Leė Kleinaitė, the daughter of Jankelis Kleinas, was born on 22 November 1919 in Lentvaris. In 1936, she finished a Jewish gymnasium in Kaunas. There she took up a vocational discipline – accounting. Before attending university, Dvoirė Leė worked as an accountant’s assistant in Kaunas. Thus she chose as her field of study economics in the Faculty of Law of the Vytautas Magnus University (1936). Later she changed her mind, and in 1940 decided to study medicine. However, her application was rejected and she continued studying economics at Vilnius University. Dvoirė Leė was a member of the Sholem Aleichem organisation of progressive students. On 19 September 1941, Dvoirė Leė and many other Jewish students were expelled from the Faculty of Economics of Vilnius University on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the Nazis. Her further fate is unknown.
