Student Ošeras Valdšteinas (1912–1941) was born in the town of Simnas on 20 July 1912 and in 1932 successfully finished Marijampolė Jewish gymnasium with Hebrew as the language of instruction. For four semesters, from 1935 to 1937, he studies at the Technology Department of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas. On 19 February 1941, he became a physics student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vilnius University. Ošeras was a student of Professor Antanas Žvironas, another Memory Diploma nominee. He was expelled from Vilnius University on 19 September 1941 along with other Jewish students on the basis of the order of the Department of Higher Education of the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the Nazis. Izaokas Sadovas was murdered during the Holocaust.
