Maušius Kaganas (1910–?) was born in Vilkaviškis. In 1930, he graduated from the private Jewish Reali Gymnasium in Vilkaviškis. On 23 September 1930, Kaganas applied to be admitted as an unclassified student to the Biology Department at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vytautas Magnus University until he received his school-leaving certificate. His application was approved. On 11 October 1930, Kaganas filed an application to enter the Law Department at the Faculty of Law of Vytautas Magnus University and was accepted. He studied at the Faculty of Law up until 1933, but had to abandon his studies due to a poor financial situation. On 12 September 1940, Kaganas submitted an application to study chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vilnius University, but it was denied. On 1 October 1940, he applied to continue his studies from the third year at the Law Department at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University. On 19 September 1941, he was expelled from the university by the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialists. No further information on the fate of Kaganas is known.
