Norbertas Rauba (1921–?) was born in Riga. In 1940, he graduated from Vilnius 3rd Boys’ Gymnasium. That same year, he applied for admission to the Philology Department at the Faculty of Humanities of Vilnius University and was accepted. On 7 November 1941, Rauba was expelled from the university by the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialists. In 1944, he applied to continue studying at the Philology Department at the Faculty of History and Philology of Vilnius University and was readmitted. The student’s curriculum vitae states that Rauba was expelled from the university in 1941 on the basis of his nationality. Later, he worked in a factory in Vilnius and, as a result of his articles in a student newspaper, he was imprisoned twice by the National Socialists. He did not finish his studies at Vilnius University. No further information on the fate of Rauba is known.
