Mironas Balberyskis (1918–?) was born in Vilnius (his father’s name was Calelis Balberyskis). From 1928 to 1936, he attended the Gymnasium of the Society of Educators. Balberyskis decided to go to Italy to obtain an education, but his studies at the Technical Faculty of the University of Pisa did not last long. In 1937, after running out of money, Balberyskis returned to Lithuania, where he worked in construction for some time until he decided to study again. Balberyskis filed his first application to study in 1940, but it was not even considered by the university because he had failed to submit the necessary documents. His second application of 14 October 1940 to study at the Faculty of Economics contained all necessary documents and was successful. On 19 September 1941, Balberyskis was expelled from the university based on a letter from the Department of Higher Education under the Education Board. The database “Lithuanians in Siberia” contains a record saying that the former student was repressed in 1941. No further information on the fate of Mironas Balberyskis is known.
