Efraimas-Tišelis Bechagenas (1918–?) was born in Lublin. For three years, he studied in Grenoble (France) at the Institute of Electrochemistry because, being of Jewish origin and due to the restrictions at the time, he could not be accepted as a student at Stefan Batory University. In January 1940, Bechagenas joined the Roman Studies Department of the Faculty of Humanities of Vilnius University. In October of that year, he applied for a transfer to the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and his application was successful. On 27 February 1941, Bechagenas filed a request for his school graduation certificate with the aim of presenting it to the employment service. On 19 September 1941, he was expelled from the university pursuant to the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education of the Board of Education. No further information on the fate of Efraimas-Tišelis Bechagenas is known.
