Viršupytė Golda (1921-1941?) was born in Vilnius. In 1930 she entered the private co-educational gymnasium of Ch. Epstein and I. Speizer in Vilnius, graduating in 1936. The archives of Vilnius University contain Golda’s application for admission to the first-year courses of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Nature in 1940. There is a note stating that she had already studied medicine at Vilnius University on the bottom of the document. She was admitted, but did not study for long, as she was expelled from the university on 19 September 1941 based on the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, under the authority of the National Socialists. In 1946, her study documents were collected by her brother Izaokas Viršupis. The Yad Vashem database mentions Golda Virshup, born in 1921, as having been murdered in the Holocaust.
