Studies and Traineeship
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, students have the right to return to their home country and cancel/postpone/change their departure time. Please note that the Erasmus + scholarship can be granted for physical mobility only.
- When a student returns to Lithuania and continues the exchange studies remotely, the scholarship is calculated only for the days spent abroad, and the remaining part of the scholarship must be returned.
- If Erasmus + exchange studies are terminated before completing a 90-day period, the studies at the host university are not credited, and the scholarship must be returned.
The scholarship for partial studies will be paid in accordance with the study period specified in the Certificat of Attendance issued by the host university.
Please note that in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the principle of force majeure can only be applied to Erasmus + projects in case the departure/entry is impossible because country/city borders are closed and/or the mobility activities are officially cancelled by the host institution due to COVID-19. Therefore, if the host university switches to distance learning, we recommend that you continue your partial studies remotely.
If you decide to withdraw from your studies abroad, please inform the individuals responsible at the host organisation and Vilnius University. By the same token, inform the International Relations Office by e-mail . Be sure to ask the host organisation to issue the confirmation document of your Erasmus study period, a copy of which should be sent to the email address provided above.
Before terminating your internship abroad, be sure to inform your department to ensure the necessary recognition of the compulsory internship period. For questions regarding the payment of the internship scholarship, please contact Vilnius University Student Services and Career Department (). Do not forget to ask the host organisation to issue an internship certificate (After the Mobility part of the Internship Agreement).
