VU Library services
Vilnius University Library supports Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion and offers them the opportunity to use the Library services free of charge.
They are welcome to:
- visit the Central Library (CL, Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius) and the Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (SCIC, Saulėtekio pr. 5, Vilnius); the latter is open 24/7
- use the Library computers, wireless internet, and special software
- use the printed and electronic resources of the Library
- borrow fiction (the largest selection of such books is available in the ‘Czesław Miłosz’ and ‘Leisure’ reading rooms)
- attend events at the Library
- use the Library spaces that are designated for various purposes
The Library offers publications in various languages (besides Lithuanian), mainly in English, German, French, Russian, and Polish. Furthermore, there is a small collection of books in the Ukrainian language – around two and a half thousand books on book history, linguistics, law, and other subjects.
Those wishing to get a VU Library card should approach the librarians working at the Information Desk of the Central Library (Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius) or the Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (Saulėtekio pr. 5, Vilnius). Please bring your temporary residence permit issued by the Republic of Lithuania, as this is necessary before a Library card can be issued.

Translation services
Staff and students of the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University who speak Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, and Polish are available on a voluntary basis to translate and interpret a wide range of texts. For any assistance, please contact Dr Anastasia Belovodskaja, Associate Professor at the Institute of Baltic Languages and Cultures at Vilnius University Faculty of Arts: . Concert services
