The goal of this programme is to deepen and broaden our students’ knowledge of biochemistry and the related sciences and to increase their understanding of the achievements and perspectives of biochemistry. The programme provides the research skills needed to know and understand the modern methods and technologies necessary for the creative development and implementation of scientific ideas.

Key Learning Outcomes

A holder of a Master’s degree in Biochemistry has the knowledge of biochemistry necessary for independent scientific research, is able to use the modern methods and technologies of experimental biochemistry and the related sciences in vivo, in vitro and in silico, and has an ability to integrate the knowledge of different sciences, apply the methods and technologies of biochemistry and the related sciences in research and practical work, select appropriate methods of research and interpret the results obtained through those methods in a reasonable manner, work in interdisciplinary areas and use the knowledge of different scientific fields in solving problems relating to the research, perform research and practical work requiring analytical and innovative thinking, and plan and conduct research in the fields of biochemistry and the related fields. The programme provides students with the ability to be responsible for the decisions they take, critically evaluate the latest novelties in the fields of biochemistry and the related sciences, as well as to improve and update their knowledge and skills.

Programme Specific Requirements

The applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for admission:

Completed university bachelor’s degree studies in the molecular biology and biochemistry field of the life sciences field group, bioengineering field of the engineering science field group and biotechnology field of the technology science field group.
Scientific research bachelor thesis on biochemistry or related topics. Candidates shall possess a bachelor studies cumulative grade point average of no less than 70 per cent to be admitted.
Entrance examination in biochemistry. Those who provided no less than half right answers may be admitted. The examination is carried out remotely and held on 26 April and 20 June 2024. The candidates will be informed individually about the exact time. The structure of the exam is provided in advance.

In addition, all applicants have to fulfil the general admission requirements.
