![]() In the first weeks of my studies, I realized that I like science, and the flexibility of the faculty and the opportunities for additional activities ensure my full development. I will never forget the first session when a math teacher evaluated my efforts during the semester, waived an exam, and wrote a ten. I also will never forget the first days of the faculty event „Mercury days“ together with the student representative office - how we flew around the dormitory of Saulėtekis in order to make the letters VU EF shine in its windows. In the subsequent courses, the opportunity to combine studies and work was very important, and during the lectures to analyze the practical situations I encounter at work. There were no major problems here either, and as one of the most interesting master's projects, I remember a study by myself and several group members about myself as a "brand": the teacher gave us the task of choosing and analyzing how a brand works, and we are we decided that it would be very interesting to analyze ourselves - after all, each of us has a certain education, experience, knowledge, skills, which we "sell" in the labor market. Maybe it's possible to measure? We wanted to know that and, of course, try our "brands". Later, while already studying for a doctorate, I saw another aspect of the faculty more clearly - scientific. Just at that time, VU MKIC (the new library) opened its doors, where I spent a lot of time with monographs, scientific articles and databases. And what about the development of public speaking skills by teaching students and attending conferences!“ Živilė Simonaitytė, Deputy Auditor General, National Audit Office of the Republic of Lithuania, Vice-minister, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania |

![]() During my first year in Vilnius University I have acquired knowledge in economics and it’s effects on businesses and our everyday lives, the basics of finance and the principles of accounting which has made me understand the value of money and financial planning, and various sectors of business including management, global business and entrepreneurship. I have gained a great understanding in the tools needed to be able to work in a business environment such as how to use IT and the discipline of statistics to analyse specific data and help build a business. Vilnius University has a huge student community and makes sure to help integrate new students by organising various events in the faculty and providing easily accessible help and support. The accounting and audit programme at Vilnius University has given me the fundamentals needed to dive deeper into the study of accounting and become a professional in this field.“ Akvilė Vitkauskaitė, Programme Student |
