VU Library Invites You to Open Access Week 2014
Vilnius University Library invites you to visit the Science Communication and Information Centre on 20-26 October during the Open Access Week, the theme of which is – "Generation Open".
Open Access Week, a global event now entering its eighth year, is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they've learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research. Traditionally "Open Access Week" is being held all over the world in the second half of October.
Simulation activities, online open courses, Pecha – Kucha presentation session, a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total) and keeps presentations concise and fast-paced as well as other activities will be held during the week of 2014 at the VU Library.
The top event of the Open Week - a documentary "The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz", that highlights the life and work of Internet influencer Aaron Swartz.
All events of the Open Access Week are free.
