VU Holds its Annual Summer School of Linguistics
From 25th to 31st July, the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University is planning to hold the 18th edition of its annual summer school of linguistics (Academia Grammaticorum Salensis Duodevigesima) at Salos Manor, Municipality of Rokiškis, Lithuania.
This year the Salos event will take place in a hybrid mode: lectures and conference talks will mostly be held remotely, but limited participation is also possible to the extent that Covid-related restrictions will allow it.
The Salos event will consist of a small summer school focusing on linguistic typology and a project-related conference. The invited speakers at the summer school will include Walter Bisang (Mainz), Matti Miestamo (Helsinki), Simone Mattiola (Bologna), Bernhard Wälchli (Stockholm) and others. The conference, entitled Further Perspectives on the Baltic Verb, will reflect research work conducted in the framework of the research project The Baltic Verb: Grams, Categories and Domains, implemented by Vilnius University with funding from the European Social Fund (project No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-01-0071) under grant agreement with the Research Council of Lithuania (LMTLT).
As in previous years, we invite non-project-related talks as well, to the extent that the time-frame allows it. No participation fee will be charged, whether for remote or in situ attendance.
