VU Doctors and Nurses Leave on a Mission to Ukraine
On Friday, April 15, two medical groups, including members of the Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine community, leave for a mission in Ukraine.
Each of the two groups consists of 12 people (4 doctors and 8 nurses). This team also includes four members of the Faculty of Medicine community: lecturers Veronika Šilinskaitė-Legenzova and Violeta Nomeikienė from the Department of Nursing, Paulius Razmys, a first-year master's student, and Ingrida Mereškevičiūtė, an additional study program student.
Doctors are expected to work in Kyiv city and county hospitals, which are currently most in need of medical assistance to treat injuries and various injuries. The mission in Ukraine will last two weeks.
Russia's war against Ukraine in the eighth week poses major challenges to the state's medical system. Therefore, the contribution of Lithuanian physicians in the fight for the health and lives of the injured and sick is extremely important.
More than 300 medics willing to help responded to the help of colleagues working in Ukraine.
