VU Closes the Academic Year

On 30 June Vilnius University community gathered traditionally for "Finis Anni Academici” – the official closing ceremony of the academic year 2015/2016 at St John’s church.

This year a significant number of smart students were awarded with Cum Laude honors. A group of members of the academic community were honored with the awards for outstanding and leadership achievements. A special tribute was payed to the community members who passed away during the academic year.

 

The ceremony was lustred with musical interludes and was finished traditionally with the official lowering of the VU flag. It will be raised back for the launch of the new academic year 2016/2017 on the 1st of September.
4326 students graduated from VU in 2015/2016 academic year, among which 193 undergraduates (bachelors) and 91 graduates (masters) were awarded with Cum Laude Honors, while 59 graduates were granted with Magna Cum Laude.
