VU Approaches TOP 500 of the World Universities
Following the world university ranking 2015/2016, published by “QS World University Rankings“, VU improved its position to 501-550 from the 551-600 position previously.
“Improving ratings of our Alma Mater testify that we are on the right track and we aim at joining the TOP 400 strongest world universities in the nearest future. Though, the main priority in the meantime is to keep pace with the leading universities of Europe and hence we seek for quality and excellence in all areas”, – prof. Artūras Žukauskas, VU Rector commented on the latest achievement.
In its 12th edition this year, the QS World University Rankings® defined that the TOP 3 world universities are the following: the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA (1), Harvard University, USA (2) and Cambridge University, UK (3).
The other three universities of Lithuania – Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Vytautas Magnus University are sharing lower – 701+ position.
The primary aim of the QS World University Rankings® is to help students make informed comparisons of leading universities around the world. Based on six performance indicators, the rankings are designed to assess universities in four areas: research, teaching, employability and internationalization.
