“THE” rankings by subject are based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas. Teaching and learning environment is assessed and the volume, income and reputation of research is evaluated. The indicator of research influence is determined by the frequency of citations. International outlook takes into account the number of foreigners working and studying at the institution as well as research conducted in cooperation with foreign researchers. Another evaluation indicator is the quality of knowledge transfer and the added value to the industry income.
„THE” World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
