Vilnius University Council Elected!

Vilnius University elected one of the main governing bodies – University Council yesterday. The new University Council is composed of 11 members: 5 internal members representing different fields of science, 4 external members – outstanding political and business personalities and two student representatives.
University Council is elected for the 5 year term, the member may be re-elected for not more than two consecutive terms.
University Council will be directly involved in the management of the Vilnius University, whereas the first and the major task at the beginning of its term will be to hold the election of Rector of Vilnius University.
