Vilnius University and Financial Crime Investigation Service Sign Cooperation Agreemen
Vilnius University (VU) and the Financial Crime Investigation Service (Finansinių nusikaltimų tyrimo tarnyba, FNTT) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the ties between the academic community and the FNTT in the implementation of research projects.
"Such agreements with state institutions are part of our commitment to the state and society, including training qualified professionals and offering our expertise to assist institutions in making informed decisions. In this case, it is also our commitment to continue supporting the implementation of transparency standards," said the VU Rector.
The agreement was signed by VU Rector Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas and FNTT Director Rolandas Kiškis. The agreement provides for the development of professional cooperation, the sharing of knowledge and data in the preparation and implementation of research projects, the provision of internship opportunities for students, and the strengthening of civil servants’ professional potential.
"We are excited about the new opportunities our cooperation with Vilnius University will bring. I am confident that the University community’s experience and research-based knowledge are exactly what the FNTT and its officers need to grow and improve. We also hope that the FNTT will provide an excellent environment for University students to acquire new skills and grow into new professionals, contributing to the sustainability of our country’s financial system," stated FNTT Director Rolandas Kiškis.
The FNTT also commits to providing VU students with opportunities to learn about the Service’s activities and the specifics of the work there, as well as the option to pursue a career at the FNTT. Additionally, whenever possible, the FNTT will share information about VU programmes, upcoming conferences, seminars, courses, and other events.
