The director of the “MATIMOP“ visited Vilnius University
Mr. Michel Hivert, the director of the executive agency of the Office of the Chief Scientist also known as "MATIMOP" visited Vilnius University on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Ms. Jolanta Pelle, representative of the Embassy of Israel, Mr. Arunas Karlonas, the director of the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology and Mr. Ricardas Valanciauskas, a senior specialist. The guests were hosted by Prof. Juras Banys, the acting rector of Vilnius University.
According to the director of "MATIMOP", the best and the greatest ideas are always created in universities. The main task of his agency is to build up the bridge between two different worlds: industrial and academic. M. Hivert has also mentioned the importance of cooperation with particular institutions of Lithuania which may open the gate to the whole Baltic region. "Lithuania and Israel are two small countries. Both we are poor in natural resources. Our main resource is a human mind", said Mr. Hivert.
