Neda Žutautaitė Was Re-Elected President of the VU Student Representation
On May 7th, at the Vilnius University Student Representation's (VU SA) reporting-election conference, the fourth-year student of Economics and Management at VU Kaunas Faculty, Neda Žutautaitė, was elected for the second term.
"There are still many issues of concern for the students, and even those that have moved significantly will require continued active involvement, making use of all available work. Improving the conditions of state-supported loans to students, increasing the continuous financing of research activities, strengthening mechanisms for improving mental health, and improving the legal status of foreign students are just a few but significant examples," says N. Žutautaitė.
N. Žutautaitė sees the main directions of activity:
- the quality of studies and the involvement of students, focusing on the creation of equivalent conditions for independent study pathways, paid and high-quality internships for students, research activities, the improvement of doctoral representation, the quality of studies, and the continuous collection of students' views;
- the social dimension in higher education, giving priority to ensuring equal access to higher education, regardless of the socio-economic situation, and to providing financial and psychological support;
- Strengthening the Organization by increasing the involvement and participation of students and members in the activities of the Organization, systematically providing development of members' competencies, improving the activities of student representatives in the Organization, and ensuring a smooth integration process of students.
During the reporting-election conference of VU SA, 95 (70%) delegates voted for the candidate.
Evaldas Matijošaitis, Justinas Brazaitis, Ieva Šukytė, Gabija Laibakojytė, and Gabija Platakytė were elected as members of the Audit Committee of VU SA. The conference approved the Commission's annual activity and financial and audit reports.
Ten delegates are elected in each VU SA unit, and the President of VU SA has the right to vote in the reporting-election conference.
