Join a Special 24-Hour Debate on the Future of Humanity
On March 1st, The Millennium Project, in collaboration with five other international futurist organizations, will host the 12th annual Global Futures Day—a unique 24-hour remote discussion event.
This event is dedicated to exploring shared opportunities for the global future across various fields. Previous events last year focused on topics such as artificial intelligence, living in space, climate change, and combating information warfare.
Erika Vaiginienė, associate professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Vilnius University (VU EVAF), will participate in the discussion marathon on 1 March and will share her opinion.
"We are currently witnessing a tension between democratic and autocratic systems, which will undoubtedly change the world we live in. By participating in such debates, we can articulate our region's expectations for how we want the future to be shaped. While the debate does not have a strict agenda, the views expressed will be compiled in reports that The Millennium Project will submit to the United Nations to inform global policy-making.I encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to share your perspectives. The more people who participate, the more likely we are to be heard. Let's take initiative in shaping our future!" invites Dr. Erika Vaiginienė, Associate Professor at VU FEBA.
The event will begin at 12 noon in New Zealand and will move westward every hour, concluding 24 hours later in Hawaii. Participants are welcome to join at any time throughout the day to listen, share ideas, and discuss how to build a better tomorrow with futurists, leaders, and engaged citizens from around the world.
Previous Global Futures Days have explored topics such as the transition to artificial intelligence, living in space, combating climate change, addressing transnational organized crime, and information warfare. Who knows what fascinating topics and perspectives will arise this year?
