Invitation to Dr. Akanimo Odon’s Lectures at Vilnius University: Turning Science into Impact and Career Opportunities

On March 3–4, Vilnius University will host two exclusive lectures by Dr. Akanimo Odon, an international expert in research impact, strategic partnerships, and career development. On March 3, from 15:00 to 16:30, at the MKIC Conference Hall (Saulėtekio g. 5), he will deliver a lecture for PhD students and senior researchers on internationalisation and innovation in research. The session will focus on how to build meaningful partnerships, increase research visibility, and attract funding to ensure that science contributes not only to academia but also to society as a practical and valuable resource.

On March 4, from 13:00 to 14:30, in Room 207 of the Faculty of Philosophy (Universiteto g. 9), Dr. Odon will discuss career strategies for students, presenting a vision of career development that extends beyond traditional employment to include entrepreneurship and further academic opportunities. This inspiring lecture will explore how students can leverage their talents, discover unique professional paths, and adapt to global career trends.

Dr. Akanimo Odon holds a PhD in Environmental Management from Lancaster University (UK) and business and entrepreneurship certifications from Cambridge, Stanford, and MIT. He serves as the African Regional Adviser for the University of London, Director of Africa Strategic Partnerships at Lancaster University, and CEO of Envirofly Consulting UK. His expertise spans higher education strategies, research impact enhancement, and international project management. Over his career, he has facilitated more than 100 academic and industry partnerships, mentored thousands of researchers and entrepreneurs, and secured over £40 million in international grants for projects across 20+ countries.
