“Initium Semestri” Starts with Opening Ceremony of the Monument

Vilnius University will open the academic year 2014–2015 with the traditional holiday "Initium semestri" on 1st of September.

Programme of the opening ceremony:

9.00 – Flag raising ceremony and opening of the K. Donelaitis monument in the Library courtyard of Vilnius University.

10.00 - 12.00 – Opening of the academic year in faculties.

14.45 – Traditional parade of the Vilnius University students, lecturers and alumni starting from the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania leading towards the central building of Vilnius University.

15.30–16.30 – Official opening ceremony "Initium Semester" of the academic year 2014–2015 at the University Grand Courtyard. The Concert of the Academic Choir "Gaudeamus" and the Wind Orchestra "Oktava" of Vilnius University.
