Free Lithuanian Language Courses for Ukrainians in Lithuania Will Be Provided
Volunteer students and lecturers of the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University (VU FLF), in cooperation with Vilnius City Municipality and other institutions, will organize free Lithuanian language training for Ukrainian refugees. The training is intended for adults who have settled in Vilnius.
'It is essential to help Ukrainians who come to Lithuania feel part of the community and have the opportunity to work fully, and language barriers can often hinder this. We do not doubt that the opportunity to be in the community is significant at the moment, so we invite those who want to register for the live training. Vilnius residents' great concentration and desire to help can be seen here as well - neither students nor teachers spare their time,' said Unė Kaunaitė, the director of the Vilnius Education Progress Center.
Lithuanian language classes for Ukrainians will be led by VU FLF students, who volunteered, and lecturers. The flows of the training groups will be formed taking into account the opportunities to participate in the proposed times, and the paid foreign languages (Russian, English) indicated in the registration form of the participants. Courses are free, and participants will be provided with training materials.
The first training groups will start on March 16-18. One training course will consist of 25 sessions; their duration is three months. By registering for the training, participants undertake to participate in all classes.
Those wishing to participate in Lithuanian language courses must fill in the registration form. The number of participants is limited. Only registered participants can participate.
Lithuanian language training will take place in the premises of Vilnius Night Hive (Vilniaus St. 22), Vilnius University (Universiteto St. 5), and adult schools.
