This innovative seminar fosters solidarity among urban researchers by bridging qualitative and quantitative epistemologies. The workshop, funded by the Arqus Innovation Fund, will take place at Vilnius University on May 15–16, 2025, and will serve as both a research training and a collaborative research development session.

The QQure Workshop is designed as a researcher retreat, allowing participants to step away from their daily workloads and engage with new research perspectives in an interactive and inspiring setting. The event will blend theory and practice, encouraging participants to reimagine their research approaches.

Key Highlights of the QQure Workshop:

• Exploring Walking as a Research Method

Renowned expert Dr. Natalia Martini will introduce participants to walking as a research method, demonstrating how it can reveal new insights into urban spaces. Dr. Martini will share her experiences of walking with homeless individuals and how these encounters deepened her understanding of urban life. Participants will then have the opportunity to engage in guided walking sessions through the streets of Vilnius, putting this methodology into practice.

• Bridging Research Divides & Generating New Ideas

The workshop will use these immersive walking experiences as a starting point for discussions on the perceived and actual differences in research practices across disciplines engaged in urban studies.

• A Time for Reflection & Collaboration

QQure is designed to be a creative and intellectually stimulating space where researchers can take a step back from daily academic pressures. Whether or not participants incorporate walking into their own research, the act of exploring urban environments together will serve as a foundation for deeper professional and personal connections.
