An international workshop of universities offering EMT (European master in Translation)
On 17 June, the Department of Translation and Interpretation Studies (Faculty of Philology) is hosting a regional workshop “Monitoring market and social needs and professional requirements relevant to translator training“.
The participants are representatives of universities offering EMT (European Master in Translation) programmes and universities participating in the activities of the European universities network OPTIMALE (“Optimising Professional Translator Training in a Multilingual Europe“) from Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as well as representatives of professional organisations, public institutions and business entities. The workshop aims at discussing the content of translation programmes, translator competences to be developed and market expectations. The state of the translation market in Lithuania and the whole region is in the focus of the workshop.
