A Gold Coin will Feature the Baltic Linguistics

On 17th of June the Bank of Lithuania will introduce a gold (commemorative) 10 litas coin into circulation from the series of "Lithuanian science". The above coin will be dedicated to the Baltic linguistics.

 

At 10.00 a.m. a public presentation of the coin will be held at the Faculty of Philology of the Vilnius University. Representatives of the Bank of Lithuania, Vilnius University as well as the new gold coin designer will present it to the community.

 

Vilnius University became famous worldwide as the centre for the Baltic linguistics starting from the 60's, it publishes the magazine "Baltistica" since 1965, holds regularly BALTICISTS Congress and other international conferences.

Coins from their date of issue will be available at the cash offices of the Bank of Lithuania in Vilnius and Kaunas.
