A Delegation from National Chengchi University of Taiwan Visited Vilnius University
On April 23rd, a National Chengchi University of Taiwan delegation visited Vilnius University (VU). Among those who visited VU were the President of National Chengchi University, Prof. Tsai-Yen Li, the Dean of Social Sciences, Prof. Vance Lo, and the Senior Regional Manager of the International Relations Office, Caroline Tsai.
The delegation met with the Rector of VU, Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, the Pro-Rector for Research, Prof. Edita Sužiedėlienė, and the Pro-Rector for Partnerships, Dr. Artūras Vasiliauskas. During the meeting, possibilities for strengthening cooperation between the universities were discussed. Later, representatives from National Chengchi University visited the VU library and toured the courtyards of the VU Old Ensemble.
The first bilateral agreement between VU and National Chengchi University was signed in Taiwan in 2009. National Chengchi University has 16,000 students and is one of the strongest universities in Taiwan, particularly renowned for its excellence in politics and social sciences. VU actively conducts student exchanges with National Chengchi University. National Chengchi University provides scholarships and free accommodation for exchange students, while VU offers scholarships and accommodation for students coming from National Chengchi University.
This year, National Chengchi University celebrates its 97th birthday and the 70th anniversary of its relocation from mainland China to Taiwan.
