Invitation to Virtual Company Creation Challenge
ARQUS – introduction
The ARQUS European University Alliance brings together the universities of Bergen, Granada, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon (Lyon 1, Lyon 3 and Saint Etienne), Padova and Vilnius, seven universities who share extensive experience in joint projects and a common profile as internationalized institutions with deep regional engagement in medium-sized cities.
The principal ambition of ARQUS is to act as a laboratory for institutional learning in order to design, test and implement an innovative model for inter-university cooperation.
Virtual Company Creation Challenge (V3C)
Interested in testing your pitching skills in an international environment? Want to visit partner university and receive feedback from experts, successful entrepreneurs and market specialists?
Virtual Company Creation Challenge is for you!
Challenge is aimed at early stage or fictional/virtual projects of student teams. Expected level: demonstrated ‘business model’ of the virtual company. Entrepreneurship will be the main indicator for winning this Challenge. Main aspects for evaluation:
- teams’ creativity,
- commercial potential of the idea and
- indication of steps towards establishing a real company.
Prize
- The winning team’s university will finance a 2–3 days mobility for up to 2 persons of the winning team to visit a partner university and its incubator
- The mobility will be a short cultural and exploratory experience coordinated with the local incubator/entrepreneurship centre
- The mobility destination options for 2020–2021 are: Granada and Lyon
How to participate?
Submit your pitch video in English to by 23 October, 2020.
During the pitch briefly, present your project (based on the business model canvas’s building blocks). Be sure to cover:
- your company’s vision and mission statement
- your team composition and explain the benefit of each person for the team
- the problem addressed and your team’s value proposition
- a first idea of the expected costs and revenue streams
- customers and other important aspects of your idea.
Technical information
- Maximum length of 3 mins;
- The selected best videos from each university will be posted on the ARQUS’ YouTube platform;
- Please record in landscape mode to avoid black sidebars when uploaded to YouTube.
