Research Focus Forum on Digital Humanities
Leipzig University will host the Arqus Research Focus Forum (RFF) "Digital Humanities (DH)" next 15th-17th June. The RFF is organised by the Leipzig University Forum for Digital Humanities aimed to promote cooperation in this research area across Arqus universities.
The overall theme of the Forum will be on “Digital Cultures & Cultural Analytics” and may include - but is not restricted to – the following topics:
- Digital philology.
- Digital (public) history.
- Digital spatial humanities.
- Game and media studies with digital tools.
- Distant viewing of videos and films.
The RFF will provide ample opportunities to meet other Arqus scholars in DH and to exchange research interests. Additionally, it aims to explore new ways of engaging with born-digital cultural artifacts and also discuss the potential of novel computational approaches that enable large-scale cultural analytics. The Forum will also provide an overview of current research trends in the DH, offer tutorials on fundamental methods in DH and inform participants on current EU funding opportunities.
The registration is open until 31st March. In the registration form, some basic information on the background and research interests of the participants is requested. The RFF has been planned as a live event in Leipzig but it may switch to a fully virtual form if the pandemic situation requires it. Attendance is free of charge. Participants are invited to contact their Arqus local officers to get more information about their travel bursaries.
