Doctoral Summer School MIXMESSE
The University of Granada will host the International Doctoral Summer School in “Mixed Methodology in Social Sciences and Education: Integrating paradigms at the education frontier” (MIXMESSE), integrated within the Doctoral Programme in Education Sciences, from 11th to 15th July in the city of Melilla (Spain). The Arqus Alliance participates in this School with the involvement of academics and students of the Universities of Granada and Graz. PhD students in education as well as in disciplines related to social sciences (sociology, psychology, economics, anthropology, etc.) are invited to participate.
MIXMESSE is proposed as a face-to-face advanced training space, aimed at doctoral students within the framework of research in social sciences and education, and developed in a multidisciplinary and international environment, through the broad participation of students from different countries and counting on international experts in this scientific field.
The School will present the current research on the integration of different research methods for the research work and doctoral thesis in the psycho-pedagogical, disciplinary and educational field of social sciences. The topics that will be covered by the School include mixed methods, comparative research, scientific writing in qualitative research, construction of data collection instruments, and, especially, academic writing for publication in scientific journals. The training sessions will combine theoretical and practical workshops.
The panel is made up of five distinguished scholars: Dr. Anthony J. Onwuegbuzie (Cambridge University, UK), Dra. Heike Wendt (University of Graz, Austria), Dr. Alfredo Bautista (Education University of Hong Kong, China), Dra. Patricia Mannix (University of Limerick, Ireland) and Dr. Juan Carlos Mijangos (Yucatán Autonomous University, Mexico).
