Dear Vilnius University students,

Quarantine changed the way work, study and thought us the importance of technology in today's world. These kinds of changes prompted us to dedicate more attention for studies, our communication between each other differs from what we are used to. 

If You are experiencing anxiety, tension, tiredness or You are having a difficult time, feeling like you are in a crisis, try to stay in touch with people around You that You trust and tell them how You feel. Currently, it is very important to look after one another and yourself, even if our interactions are only now virtual. 

 If You are suffering from major anxiety, thinking about suicide or You are worried about Your classmate, who may be thinking about suicide, do not be left alone with this and contact University’s community psychologists for a consultation. Because of formed waiting line for counselling in Counselling and training centre, we want to remind You about other possibilities for psychological help:

  • Starting in March, Vilnius University clinical psychology master's programme students are providing 3 psychological counselling sessions free of charge. These students are supervised by professional psychologists. During sessions, your conversion will be recorded and the only person who will listen to the recording will be the supervising psychologist. Your personal details like your first and last name will stay anonymous, and the recordings will be deleted in July, after the semester is ended. Spots for the sessions are very limited.   • If you are experiencing psychological crisis, you can reach out to Crisis management center Monday-Friday 16:00-20:00 and on Saturdays 12:00-16:00. For more information: krizesiveikimas.lt
  • Emergencyemotional support after work hours and on weekends is provided by out-of-hours consultation services (For more information:  https://www.pylimas.lt/en/)
  • Youth up to 29 years oldcan get free psychological help in Youth health centers that are in Antakalnis (https://www.antakpol.lt/go.php/lit/img/7).
  • Students from abroad, that are currently studying in Lithuania can get up to 7 free counselling sessions. For more information visit https://www.renkuosilietuva.lt/en/psychologist/.
  • Emotional support via phone (24/7) can be provided by Youth line: 8 800 28888, https://www.jaunimolinija.lt/en/.
  • If you are financially able, psychologists with private practice can provide you with psychological counseling. Apps like Mindletic (https://www.mindletic.com/about) provide paid professional help and free self-help activities (ex., breathing exercises or community rooms).
