"I wanted to be a psychotherapist all the time, but I needed to have a plan B. That's why I initially followed two paths: family medicine and psychotherapy," recalls psychotherapist Dainius Jakučionis, a graduate of VU Faculty of Medicine. "When I lived in a dormitory, I had a tradition - in the morning, when the sun was rising, to climb on the roof of the dormitory with a cup of coffee and count the birds flying by. I could see the entire panorama of waking-up Vilnius opened from their roof. It was one of the most beautiful mornings of my life," Marius Čepulis, a nature photographer, presenter, remembers his studies at the Life Sciences Center of Vilnius University. He says that one of the most important things that the university gave him is the understanding of the world and education in general, and it helped him to become who he is today.

The legendary basketball coach Jonas Kazlauskas, who won the highest European and world basketball awards with the teams he led, while still studying at VU Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, focused more on sports than on science. Two or three times a day training, matches and travels – balancing the sport routine with lectures and study tasks was not the easiest task. Once, the future coach even heard from the professor: "You won't be a mathematician!" Although the prediction came true, J. Kazlauskas admitted that the knowledge he gained at VU was significant for his career at sport: "It's all about numbers and probabilities.”
