Future Skills Pentathlon
VU Career Centre invites you to join Future Skills Pentathlon. It’s a unique training program based on experiential and reflective learning and focused on working on five competencies: cooperation, responsibility, interculturality, problem solving and openness to change.
This program will be carried out in cooperation with our partners: SEB, Western Union, Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania.
You will:
- Get to know better your and your teammate's personality type, identify which team roles you excel in, assess your collaborative skills and attitudes (e.g., open listening, giving feedback, being positive, etc.), and learn about the stages of team development.
- Assess your level of responsibility on personal, team and social level, understand what you can and should not take responsibility for, and find out whether you are proactive or have a victim mentality.
- Evaluate your cultural awareness, explore two models of intercultural competence – intercultural sensitivity development and the culture map – to understand how to overcome stereotypes.
- Learn about the Ideal problem-solving model, through case study, identify the main problem and understand what usually prevents you from making effective decisions.
- By improvising, you‘ll see if you‘re open to change and surprises and have fun.
You‘ll enjoy the experience while connecting with students from diverse courses and specialties, expand your network and share insights in a secure environment, embracing diverse and enriching opinions.
The training program consists of 7 workshops, one non-formal meeting and 2 consultations – one before and another after the workshops – with a career counsellor. The first consultation is a part of selection process, and the second is for career development.
